Tai Chi for Health
Thursdays 9:30am-10:30am Continuers Class.
Tai Chi is an exercise system for body and mind that originates from martial arts in ancient China.
Some traditional forms of Tai Chi are strenuous, but Tai Chi for Health (TCH) is a set of slow, gentle movements devised by Dr Paul Lam, in consultation with Tai Chi and medical experts. They are modified to be suitable for people of all levels of movement ability and fitness, including people living with conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis or Parkinson’s. Tai Chi for Arthritis is the best-known form, but there are also many other TCH sets.
Easy to learn, Tai Chi for Health builds physical flexibility, strength, and balance. It improves concentration and calms the body and mind. The sets are fun, energising and can help relieve chronic pain. They can be done seated or standing. You don’t have to have a medical condition to benefit from and enjoy TCH.
